Superfood is term used to classify foods with exceptional nutritional value. With their high concentrations of anti-oxidants and essential nutrients, they are a perfect addition to my soups. If you look up the nutritional stats on these foods, it can’t be denied that they score high, containing nutrients that are thought to prevent heart disease, cancer, type II diabetes, inflammation, and other ailments. Though I’m not a nutritionist, I can say that when I am able to incorporate many these foods into my diet, I feel much healthier, sleep better, and look better too. Plus, if you fill up on healthy foods, you’ll be more likely to cut back on the junk. 🙂
In my recipes I have highlighted SUPERFOODS in green so you know how healthy your soup is.
